Line 10 of Metro de Madrid will be out of service between Nuevos Ministerios and Cuzco from 28 March as part of the modernisation works at Santiago Bernabéu station. The closure will last around nine months, affecting thousands of passengers who use this busy section daily.
No service between Nuevos Ministerios and Cuzco
Santiago Bernabéu station is undergoing a major transformation to increase both capacity and accessibility, while strengthening its link to Real Madrid football club. With more than 40% of the project already completed, work now needs to be carried out on the tracks themselves, making it necessary to suspend the service.
The closure will begin on Saturday, 28 March, and will remain in place until the end of 2026. The full upgrade of Bernabéu station, with a budget of €66 million, is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
Alternative transport options
To mitigate the impact, Metro will reinforce lines 1 and 9 and introduce a free replacement bus service operated by EMT with ten vehicles linking Cuzco, Santiago Bernabéu, Nuevos Ministerios, and Plaza de Castilla. Buses will run every 3–5 minutes.
Bus routes 27 and 147 will also be reinforced to ease travel during the works. From Trainvelling, we encourage you to make use of these options!
