If you are planning to get around Valencia by metro this summer, there are some important changes to keep in mind. Metrovalencia has begun track renewal works between Aeroport and Quart de Poblet, mainly affecting the last trains on Line 3 from Sunday to Thursday.
Changes to the last trains
During these weeks, the final service on Line 3 adjusts both its timetable and route:
- From Sunday to Thursday, the last train arrives at Aeroport at 23:22 and departs back towards Valencia at 23:38.
- On Sundays, the timetable is slightly earlier: arrival at 23:20 and departure at 23:28.
- This final service does not complete its full usual journey, terminating at Mislata-Almassil until 30 August.
The good news is that night services on Fridays, Saturdays and the eves of public holidays remain unchanged, so you can continue travelling as normal on those nights.
Lines without changes
Lines 5 and 9 continue to operate normally on this section, offering an alternative for some journeys.
More works across the network
Further works are also ongoing between Alameda and Marítim (Lines 5 and 7), which involve full closures at stations such as Aragó, Amistat, Ayora and Marítim. In this case:
- Alameda acts as the terminus for the affected lines.
- Marítim remains open to connect with tram services (Lines 6 and 8).
Why summer?
These works form part of Metrovalencia’s modernisation plan and are scheduled for summer to minimise disruption, as passenger numbers are lower. The aim is clear: to improve safety, comfort and the overall reliability of the rail service.
Trainvelling tips
If you are heading to the airport or travelling around the Valencia metropolitan area, check timetables before you set off and consider alternative routes. A small adjustment can save time and make your journey much smoother.
