Silent space: Iryo introduces quiet travel on its trains

Travelling by train is not just about getting from A to B; it can also be a chance to switch off or to focus deeply. With this in mind, iryo has unveiled its new ‘Silent Space’, designed for passengers seeking complete tranquillity throughout their journey.

This new option has been available to book since 1 June and will be offered on all routes from 15 June onwards.

Located in coach 8 of the Frecciarossa trains, the ‘Silent Space’ will offer 58 seats per train and will be available to both individual travellers and corporate clients. The concept is simple: to provide a distraction-free environment where passengers can rest, work, or simply enjoy the journey.

A fare designed for comfort

The ‘Silent Space’ is sold as a dedicated fare that retains the benefits of the Initial Superior ticket, but with specific access conditions to ensure a მშვიდ atmosphere on board.

For instance, access is restricted to adults only: children under 13, infants, pets, and groups are not permitted. This approach aims to guarantee a consistent, interruption-free experience for all passengers.

Clear rules for a calmer journey

To preserve the quiet environment, iryo has introduced a set of onboard guidelines. Electronic devices must be kept on silent mode, and headphones are required for any audio or video content, always at a low volume.

Conversations should either take place outside the area or be kept to a minimum, avoiding prolonged discussions. At the same time, passengers will still enjoy onboard services, including the trolley-based catering offer.

Enhancing the travel experience

Iryo’s CEO, Fabrizio Favara, emphasised that this initiative responds directly to passenger demand: “We know that travel time is valuable, whether for working with maximum concentration or for fully switching off.”

With this launch, iryo strengthens its commitment to offering tailored onboard experiences, catering to different types of travellers and reinforcing rail as one of the most comfortable, sustainable, and versatile ways to travel across Spain.
